Where do I download Respondus Lockdown Browser?

  • You can only download Respondus Lockdown Browser from within Canvas (Onetime download and install) before you take the exam. We encourage Faculty to create a practice quiz with multiple attempts to allow students time to download and troubleshoot issues. 

Can Respondus Monitor be given remotely to students and also in a proctored lab?

Can students take the exam using an iPad?

Can students take the exam using a Chromebook?

  • No, students at SVSU cannot use a Chromebook to take an exam using Respondus Lockdown, or Monitor.

Computer requirements

Respondus LockDown Browser is a client application installed on the local computer.

Operating Systems

Windows: 10, 8, 7
Mac: MacOS 10.15 to 10.12, OS X 10.11, OSX 10.10
iOS: 11.0+ (iPad only). Must have a compatible LMS integration

  • Windows 10S is not a compatible operating system, nor can LockDown Browser be obtained via the Windows App Store.
  • LockDown Browser and Respondus Monitor may continue to run in older operating systems that have reached “end-of-life” but students may encounter unexpected results.

Memory

Windows: 2 GB RAM
Mac: 512 MB RAM

Hard Disk Space

Windows: 75 MB of free hard disk space
Mac: 3 MB of free hard disk space
