You may see one of the following images appear when you initially start SPSS. If so, follow the steps for the corresponding image.
In either case, click on the button that says
Launch License Wizard
and this will continue you to step 14. If you see neither of these images on your screen then simply continue to step 14 below.
This is an important step
to get your SPSS application working correctly.
Select, Authorized user license. I purchased a single copy of the product.
Then choose Next.
You will be asked to enter a code.
Open the email that was sent to you and find the code in the email. Select and copy it.
Switch back to the authorization wizard and paste the code in the code field. Do not share the code with anyone. Then choose next.
You will see that the code was processed successfully. Choose Next.
The expiration date for the license is displayed. Choose Finish.
Use the Windows Start bar to open SPSS. SPSS will open and ask you to open a file.
Save Data Files to a Local Drive
The next step is to make sure that you download and save your course files to a folder on your computer. Your teacher should tell you where your files are located. It is suggested that you download those files to a local drive. We do not suggest that you double click on the file to open the SPSS application. Instead, open the SPSS application first, then choose Open another file and then choose open.
Navigate to your file, select it, and choose Open
SPSS will process the data and open the file.
