What is Adobe Premiere Rush?

Adobe Premiere Rush is a video editor included with our campus-wide Adobe licensing. You can create professional-looking videos on your desktop computer and mobile device. Use the Premiere Rush video editor for basic to advanced editing. Then, export them to for sharing with others.

Adobe Discontinues Premiere Rush

On September 30, 2026, Premiere Rush will be discontinued by Adobe. We know many of you have relied on Premiere Rush as a way to apply visual and audio effects to your recordings. You can use the application until that date if you already have it installed on your computer. Note: If you landed on this page and wanted to install Premiere Rush it is no longer available to download and install on your PC or Mac. The good news is, faculty and staff still have other video editing apps at SVSU that are reliable for editing audio or video recordings.

Other Video Editors at SVSU

EchoVideo lecture capture has a basic video editor that allows you to trim, cut, combine, add and remove tracks and add custom image thumbnails.

Clipchamp (beginner/advanced features) video editing tools with built in templates, music, and basic trim features, and can apply audio and visual effects.

Faculty and Staff Access

If you have installed Adobe Premiere Rush, you can access it through the Creative Cloud desktop app. In the search bar, type "rush." You will find Adobe Premiere Rush listed as an available app until 9/30/2026, after that date it will no longer be supported by Adobe. Premiere Pro is available for both computers and mobile devices (iPad). This application is designed for professional video editors, it robust and not geared toward everyday video editors. SVSU ITS recommends using Microsoft Clipchamp to edit your audio and video recordings, it has a user-friendly interface and makes video editing easy for everyone.

*Note: If you have a Zoom Pro account and Echo360, your cloud recording is automatically copied to Echo360 Library.

The home interface will display your library of videos that you can open and manage or you can Create a New Project.

Editing your video with Premiere Rush

Share your video

Easily share your edited video with others in our supported platforms, see recommendations below:

  • Academic Use: Upload recordings to Echo360 ​​​​​and embed media to Canvas.
  • Non-Academic Use: Upload recordings to Microsoft Stream and share a link inside or outside of SVSU.
