Keeping Zoom Up-to-Date

Zoom recommends we highly to regularly download and update to the latest version of Zoom software by checking for updates within the Zoom client or by navigating to zoom.us/download to take advantage of all our latest security and functionality features. Zoom will make an effort to support a given version of software for at least 9-months before it reaches end-of-life.

Reusing Zoom Recordings within Echo360

Zoom Cloud Recordings are only available for 30 days, if you have an Echo360 and Zoom user account, your Zoom cloud recordings will automatically be copied into your Echo360 Library (a cloud storage repository for your content). NOTE: If you don’t have both you will not be able to copy Zoom Cloud recordings to Echo360.

Reusing Zoom Recordings for Non-Academic Use

Zoom Cloud Recordings are only available for 30 days, ITS recommends that you upload your videos to Microsoft Stream for storage and sharing purposes for non-academic use, set video permissions to be viewed by everyone with an SVSU account or you can limit the video viewing permissions to individuals, channel, or a group.

Downloading Zoom Cloud Recordings

Zoom video retention: Recordings are only available for 30 days. You must download the recording if you wish to use it long-term. We recommend using Echo360 for faculty, and Microsoft Stream for staff or faculty that want to share outside of a Canvas.
