How to Print Documents Directly into Perceptive Content (ImageNow)

Purpose

This article contains the steps to print a document into Perceptive Content (ImageNow).

Procedure

Setup Capture Profile

This step only needs to be done once, for each network login/user that will be using  the PC.  Must be performed by an ImageNow Power User, on each PC to use this functionality.

  • Login to the PC/Network as user that will use the PC
  • Login to Perceptive Content/ImageNow as ImageNow Power User
  • Click on the down arrow next to the Capture button
  • Select Manage Capture Profiles
  • Select ImageNow Printer - Single Mode
  • Click Copy
  • Select copy of ImageNow Printer - Single Mode
  • Click Modify
  • Change Name to ImageNow Printer - Batch Mode
  • Check box Set as the default Printer profile
  • Click on the down arrow next to Mode
  • Select Batch
  • Click on Document Keys tab
  • Double click on Drawer
  • Click on down arrow next to Value
  • Select Office -SCAN drawer (ex. Undergraduate Admissions-SCAN)
  • Click OK
  • Click OK
  • Click Close

Printing from a windows program into Perceptive Content/ImageNow

  • Login to Perceptive Content/ImageNow (MUST be logged into ImageNow to use this function)
  • Open document in application
  • Click Print
  • Select ImageNow Printer
  • Click Print
  • click the down arrow to choose ImageNow Printer - Batch Mode
  • Your document should now be in Perceptive Content/ImageNow under Batches - Ready for QA

Printing from Colleague to Perceptive Content/ImageNow

  • Login to Perceptive Content/ImageNow (MUST be logged into ImageNow to use this function)
  • Open Colleague via a web browser
  • Run Colleague report
  • At the printer resolution screen, type H in Output Device field
  • In Report Browser, click Export PDF
  • Choose Font - Courier
  • Choose Font Size (use 8 or 9 as appropriate for each report)
  • Click on Landscape (or Portrait as needed per report)
  • Click Create PDF
  • Opens report in browser
  • Click Print
  • Choose ImageNow Printer from drop down menu
  • Click Print
  • When prompted, select the capture profile created in step 1
  • Click OK
  • click the down arrow to choose ImageNow Printer - Batch Mode
  • Your document should now be in Perceptive Content/ImageNow under Batches - Ready for QA
If Print Quality Needs to be Set Higher
  • After Choosing ImageNow Printer from drop down menu
    • Click Properties
    • Paper/Quality tab
    • Advanced
    • Change “Print Quality” from 360 x 360 dots per inch to 600 x 600 dots per inch
    • Click OK
    • Click OK
    • Click Print
    • click the down arrow to choose ImageNow Printer - Batch Mode 
    • Your document should now be in Perceptive Content/ImageNow under Batches - Ready for QA

Leave the Report Browser open until the report looks the way you want it to in Perceptive Content/ImageNow. Choose Print Remote if you need to spool the report to a Colleague printer. You can reprint the report and delete batches in Perceptive Content/ImageNow as needed, without rerunning the program in Colleague.
