How to Install or Upgrade Perceptive Content (ImageNow)

Purpose

This article contains instructions for installing and upgrading Perceptive Content (ImageNow).

Procedure

  • Open Software Center by clicking on the Windows search button and search for 'Software Center'
  • Click on Software Center App
  • Double click on Perceptive Content Client 7.9
  • Click Install
    • This process will take a few minutes.
    • Click OK if you get the message, “The setup must update files or services that cannot be updated while the system is running. If you choose to continue, a reboot will be required to complete the setup.” You may get this message more than once.
    • Click OK if you get the message, “The following applications should be closed before continuing the installation. Perceptive Software PED ServiceMonitor” Click OK to Automatically close applications and attempt to restart them after setup is complete.
  • Computers with an ImageNow scanner connected will need to acquire a new token. Click Ok to the message stating your token is invalid and it will need to check for a new one. Click Yes to message stating number of seats and do you wish to use one. Click Ok to the Successfully acquired token message.

The upgrade is finished when the status says installed. The button will say Uninstall. Do not click it. You can close Software Center.

Before logging in, update the Server ID:

  • Open Perceptive Content
  • (Don't login) Click on Connection Profiles
  • Click Edit connection profiles (at the bottom)
  • Highlight default
  • Click Modify
  • Change the Server ID from insrv3.svsu.edu to pcsrv.svsu.edu
  • Click OK
  • Click OK
