As the ITS team will be moving throughout campus to set up each phone, please be aware that it may take some time before they are able to reach every office. In the meantime, if you would like to set up your new Poly phone independently, please follow the instructions below.
Phone Setup Instructions: Transferring Cables from Avaya to Poly Phone
Each phone requires at least one cable connection to ensure internet access. If you choose to set up your new Poly phone on your own, please follow these stes to correctly transfer the cables from your current Avaya phone
- Identify the cables on your Avaya phone:
- Top cable (1): This is typically the main network cable.
- Bottom cable (3): This may be connected to your PC or docking station.
- Reconnect the cables to the new Poly phone as follows:
- Move the top cable (1) from the Avaya phone to the left port (2) on the Poly phone.
- If there is a second cable (from the phone to your PC or docking station), move the bottom cable (3) from the Avaya phone to the right port (4) on the Poly phone.
