There are two primary Portfolio types: Evaluation Portfolio and Showcase Portfolio
Evaluation Portfolio
Instructor-led to assess student learning.
Focuses on tracking progress, meeting specific competency requirements, and grading.
Ideal for tracking skill acquisition over time.
Showcase Portfolio
Student-led to highlight and reflect on their own learning.
Focuses on final, polished product, which can be shared externally via PDF or HTML.

How to transfer your portfolio from the old ePortfolio (legacy) tool to the new Portfolio tool
The old portfolio tool, ePortfolio (legacy), will be retired on December 30, 2026. After December 30, 2026, all portfolios created using the ePortfolio (legacy) tool will be permanently deleted, so you will need to download those portfolios to keep them. You can then create a new portfolio using the Portfolio tool to recreate your portfolio there.
