If you requested Live Stream to be enabled your students can view your class meeting(s) remotely.

Body

Overview

All rooms with scheduled classes using Universal Classroom Capture (software installed on the podium computer) will automatically record your screen content and audio, it will start and stop at the designated times you requested for your classroom recordings. View our Classroom Equipment and Technology Article.

This article demonstrates what to do before class, during class, and after class when you have scheduled classes.

Recording Sensitive Information

While recording your class lectures, do not check grades, email, or anything confidential which violates FERPA policy. All content is recorded and will be available to students whether scheduled to start automatically or started and stopped manually.

Need to trim or cut out sensitive information? You can edit your video directly in your browser, view a library of help articles on using the Media Editor in EchoVideo.

After Class

The computer needs to be left on for 3-5 minutes to upload your recording to the Echo360 server, whether you end class at the normal time or end it early. The time that it takes to process to your Library depends on the length of your class recording and where your recording is in the queue with others. You will receive an email notification when the video is available.

  1. Class ending at the normal time? At the end of the scheduled recording time be sure to keep the computer on for 3-5 minutes to allow the class recording to upload to the EchoVideo server and process to your course.
  2. Ending Class early? Be sure to stop the recording by launching the shortcut Universal Classroom Capture on the desktop shortcut. Click the white square to stop the scheduled recording. Then, wait 3-5 minutes and restart the podium computer.
  3. Missing a video from a scheduled class? Its likely that the class recording didn't have time to upload to the EchoVideo server or class was ended early. Call us x4225 or create a support ticket let us know the room and time of your class, so we can locate it. If someone else is using the computer after your class and they sign into the computer your content will be automatically uploaded.
If the computer is not signed in (Classroom Capture Rooms only), the recording is missed and IT is alerted. Please let us know as soon as possible if you are missing a recording Create a support ticket here.
