Overview
This article is intended for employees. The Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app is simple to install on your university or personal computer, whether it's a PC or Mac.
Our Enterprise license for Adobe includes a full suite of over 20 applications for graphic design, video editing, web development, and Acrobat Pro for editing PDFs to meet ADA Title II Accessibility standards. Important Note: Adobe Reader does not provide a built-in accessibility checker.
Who has access to Adobe Creative Cloud Suite?
SVSU staff and faculty have access to the Adobe Creative Cloud software suite through their login credentials. Explore how to install specific Adobe apps at the bottom of this page.
Note: You can only be logged into the app on two devices (office and personal) at the same time. To log out of another device, follow these instructions: Adobe: Sign out of an Adobe app

Adobe Account Information: FAQs
- Existing personal Adobe ID? If you have an existing Adobe ID personal account, you may migrate your content to your SVSU Enterprise account, see this online Adobe article “Manual Migration of Files”.
- How many devices can be logged into? Only two licenses (office, personal) can be simultaneously logged into. If installed and logged in on more than two devices you will need to sign out.
- Leaving SVSU? Adobe offerings will not be available, you MUST download and save your content or transfer it to a personal Adobe account.
- How do I get help? If you have questions about your Adobe apps, please visit the Adobe Support page.
Windows (university-owned) - How do I install Adobe Creative Cloud?

- Click the Windows or Search icon type in Software Center click the app to open it.
- From the Software Center window, click the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop icon.
- Click the Install button. You will see an installation status display.
- After installing Adobe Creative Cloud, you will need to restart your computer.
MacOS (university-owned) - How do I install Adobe Creative Cloud?
You must install the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app from the new software portal. In the top menu, click Go > Applications > SVSU Mac Self Service learn how to install applications supported for Mac Devices. If you do not see self service, you will need to install Creative Cloud from adobe.com, refer to the instructions below.
Personal computer (Windows or MacOS) - How do I install Adobe Creative Cloud?
Before You Install Creative Cloud. Check your system requirements on your computer to install the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app or the related Adobe apps.
- Open our browser, we recommend Google Chrome, Firefox, or Edge and go to adobe.com
- On the main page, click "Sign In" link (upper-right corner).
- On the Adobe Sign-in window, you will need to enter your SVSU login credentials, follow the steps below:
- Enter your SVSU email address then click the "Continue" button.
- Click "Company or School Account"
- You may be prompted to authenticate your account using Multi-factor Authentication.

On the adobe.com main page, click "Open Creative Cloud", (see example image below).

Once logged in under Suggested, look for DESKTOP Creative Cloud, and click Download.

The installation file will download to your computer.

Double click the installation file Creative_Cloud_Set-Up, depending on your computer; you will see a different file extension:
- Windows: ends with .exe
- Mac: ends with .dmg (after installation, you can find a desktop shortcut).
Sign into Adobe Creative Cloud
- Open the Adobe Creative Cloud icon on your desktop or Start menu (Windows), or from Applications (Mac).
- You will need to sign in to install the available Adobe apps.
- On the Adobe ID Sign In the window, follow these steps:
- Type in your SVSU email address username@svsu.edu
- Click "Company or School Account"
- After your account login in verified you will be logged into Adobe Creative Cloud.
Install Specific Adobe Applications
You can install specific Adobe apps on your university or personal computer (Windows and Mac). When you open Adobe Creative Cloud, you will land on the Home page which provides shortcuts to the most commonly used Adobe apps (sample image below).
Install an Adobe app
- Click "Apps" in the left menu.
- Locate the Adobe app you need and click the "Install" button.
- You will see a progress bar as the application installs, you may continue working.
- When the Adobe app has finished installing, click the Open button.
- You can launch the app from inside Adobe Creative Cloud or open it as a single application from your computer.
