Microsoft Clipchamp for work and school is a user-friendly, browser-based video editor that makes it easy to create video projects using templates, built-in media, and add visual or audio effects.
Available for: SVSU employees and registered students.

Access Clipchamp for work and school accounts
Sign into your computer or browser with your SVSU credentials. There are several points of entry to access Clipchamp.
Launching Clipchamp on Windows 11 university-owned computers

Windows 11: If you are on a Windows 11 device, Clipchamp is already installed on your university machine. Type in Clipchamp in the search bar.

Snipping Tool on Windows 11: No longer for just screen shots, you can now record your screen. Once recorded, click Edit in Clipchamp.
Launching Clipchamp in your Browser
- Browser: Clipchamp is available right in your browser there is no software to install. Available for Mac or PC users.
- Works best in: Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. It it not supported in Firefox or Safari. For optimal experience: Make sure Clipchamp works well for you - Microsoft Support
- Microsoft 365 homepage: Visit portal.office.com click the Apps in the left menu, select Clipchamp.
- Microsoft 365 Create page: Click Apps the the left menu, then click Clipchamp.
- OneDrive or SharePoint (svsu0-my.sharepoint.com/):
- Click the Add New button, then in the list click Clipchamp.
- From My Files, navigate to your recording, select the three dots. Open > Edit in Clipchamp.
- Stream app (stream.office.com):
- Direct access to Clipchamp, click Video Project. This opens Clipchamp.
- Open your video, select Open editor which allows you to copy your video to open in Clipchamp.
- Microsoft 365 App launcher: Click the waffle or grid (upper-right) then select Clipchamp.
Important Note: The answers below assume that you are already logged into your SVSU Microsoft 365 account.
Where are Clipchamp projects stored?
Clipchamp video projects are stored in OneDrive and SharePoint document libraries.
Can I upload existing media into Clipchamp?
Yes, Images, videos, and audio can be added in the My Media section in Clipchamp.
Can I record my screen in Clipchamp?
Yes. You can record your screen or record both your screen and webcam up to 30 minutes. Click the Record and create tab.
Can I edit a Teams meeting recording in Clipchamp?
Yes. Teams meeting recordings store in your OneDrive, navigate to the recording, then select "Open > Edit in Clipchamp." Note: You must own the video or have permissions to edit the recording.
Is the original video file replaced or saved automatically?
No. Unless you specifically save over the original video. You can share the video like a normal OneDrive file from the Share modal.
Can I download my video edited in Clipchamp for offline use?
Yes. Click Download. The video will download to you computer.
Can I share my Clipchamp video project with others?
Yes. You will share your file from OneDrive just like any other file using the Share modal. There are several ways to share a Clipchamp video project.
Can I download a video from Canvas Files and edit it in Clipchamp?
Yes. Open your Canvas course, locate your recording and download it to your computer. Upload your recording to OneDrive. Once uploaded, to your OneDrive click the Add New button, then select Clipchamp.
Can I download a video from my EchoVideo library and edit it in Clipchamp?
Yes. You can download videos that you own from EchoVideo or have specific permissions. Once downloaded to your computer you can upload it to Clipchamp for advanced editing.
Important Note: EchoVideo does have a video editor that does trim, cut, combine media, and you can add image thumbnails. If you are looking to add visual and audio effects we recommend to use Clipchamp.
Can I download my video edited in Clipchamp and upload it to EchoVideo?
Yes. Click the Download button. Once the video has downloaded, log into Canvas click EchoVideo or EchoVideo Course Analytics to access your Library. Alternatively, you can log into echo360.org once logged in click the Create button > Upload media.
