IMPORTANT NOTE on your Print Balance:
At the beginning of each semester all enrolled students automatically receive a personal print account balance at the start of each semester. This balance includes an average allowance of 400 black-and-white pages per month to support academic printing needs.

At SVSU, you may send your files to black and white or color printers while on campus or use Web Print to wirelessly print from your personal device. On this page, you will learn about your print account, printing rates, and how to access your individual print account. A pin is required at printers where there is a card swipe reader.

Print Balance
New for the Fall 2025 semester. Each month a student will get $10.00 in print balance with the ability to overdraft an additional $10.00 from the upcoming month (giving each student up to $20.00 at the start of the semester). Note: Your monthly credits cannot exceed $10.00 and unused print credits do not roll over.
Printing Rates
Charges rates for each submitted print job are:
- Black & White (B&W): $0.05 per page
- Color: $0.30 per page
Log into your Print Account
You can access your print account, check your print, balance, change your pin and more. You can log in using a web browser from any computer.
Sign into your Print Account in a web browser
To view and manage your print account and services, you will need to log in to your print account with your SVSU username and password.
- Using a web browser visit vprint.svsu.edu
- Type in your SVSU username and password
- Click Log in.

Once logged into your account in a web browser, a Summary of your printing activity is shown by default. The left menu has links to various functions to manage your print account.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Pin Numbers are required on printers with card readers
If you forget your pin number, Click Change Details
, type in your New PIN
then type it again in Verify new PIN
then click Change PIN
to save it to your print account.

Where can I print documents from my personal device?
You can use Web Print Release, a service intended for personal devices for students, it is a virtual print queue where you can submit your files at many locations across campus. You can release them at any SVSU Campus Kyocera MFP location, view our quick guide: Web Print Release
Print Balance FAQs
My document won't print, but I have money in my print balance.
All technical printer issues aside, if you print a document and the cost of the pages exceeds the amount of print balance you have remaining, your job will not print. Log into vprint.svsu.edu to check your print balance.
I have a huge print job and more than enough money in my print balance and my stuff won't print.
It may be the total number of pages of your print job. If your print job exceeds 100 pages, break up large print jobs into smaller ones of less and ensure they are less than 100 pages.
Can I get a refund of my print balance?
No, print balances cannot be refunded. After your semester allotment is depleted, buy just enough for what you need. See SVSU's printing policies linked from http://vprint.svsu.edu for more information.
Printing Issues FAQs
What is an XPS document?
An XPS document is similar to a PDF, and for those who don't have an option to print to PDF, or those not printing an Office document (e.g. Visual Studio code), it allows you to use the campus web printing.
I went to release my web print job and it's not there, but it was earlier.
Documents placed in a print queue will be held there for 24 hours. Please release your documents in a timely fashion. Documents not released within 24 hours will automatically be purged. You will be sent a warning email 5 minutes before it will be purged.
I printed some pages in error, or of poor quality. Can I get a refund?
Yes. You can bring the erroneous or poor quality pages to the IT Support Center in Zahnow library, 1st floor. A person in that office will decide if the pages should be refunded or not, and if so, will reimburse your print balance.
