Zoom: Making Zoom Meeting Recordings ADA Compliant

Summary

In this article are some tips on ADA Compliance and editing your Zoom transcript.

Body

Overview

Recorded Zoom video conferences and cloud recordings will automatically generate a transcript, it is machine-generated so it may not be error-free. With keeping Universal Design in mind, it is recommended to edit your transcript for accuracy, especially if you are reusing it.

There are two methods of editing a video transcript created in Zoom, you can edit directly in Zoom or you can edit inside of Echo360.

Manage and edit your transcript in Zoom

Log into your Zoom account at https://svsu.zoom.us/ to edit your transcript or apply closed captions, see how to manage your transcription in Zoom.

Manage and edit your transcript in Echo360

If you have both a Zoom Pro account and an EchoVideo (Echo360) account your recorded meeting and transcript will automatically copy over to Echo360. EchoVideo has a built-in transcript editor that allows you to easily review and edit the text in the transcript and apply the closed captions (the transcript must be 100% accurate).
