Teach with Microsoft Whiteboard (Web app, Windows 10, and iOS)


Microsoft Whiteboard is a freeform digital canvas that allows you to used as a standalone whiteboard for lectures or lessons on can be used in a Teams meetings to sketch ideas and work creatively with meeting participants.



Microsoft White Board is a freeform digital canvas that can be accessed from the O365 app launcher (waffle). It is best used on touchscreen devices; a pen, touch, and a mouse can be used. Write content during your lectures and use the Microsoft Whiteboard app. It is best used with a touch-enabled device and a stylus, for ease of writing.

Windows app

This is a digital freeform canvas that allows you to draw, add text, shapes, images, links, attach documents, embed videos, or start with a predesigned template.

  • Content drawn can be duplicated
  • Images can be inserted, as well as Word and PowerPoint files
  • Insert images from Bing

Web app

Access the Microsoft Whiteboard from the app launcher or visit https://whiteboard.office.com/

Click the Pen icon, select a color, and draw, sketch, or write on the board.

  • Saves to the cloud
  • Four colors available and an eraser (smooth erasing)
  • You can invite or create a share link from the Person icon
  • You can export the whiteboard as a .svg (but would need a third-party app)

Microsoft Teams

Available in Microsoft Teams when you share your screen in a meeting.
