Transfer your porfolio from ePortfolio (legacy) to Portfolio

Summary

How to transfer your portfolios from the ePortfolio (legacy) tool to the Portfolio tool

Body

A new portfolio tool called Portfolio has been added to Canvas, and the old portfolio tool, ePortfolio (legacy), will be retired on December 30, 2026.  After December 30, 2026, all portfolios created using the ePortfolio (legacy) tool will be permanently deleted, so you will need to download those portfolios to keep them.  You can then create a new portfolio using the Portfolio tool to recreate your portfolio there.

Download your portfolio from the ePortfolio (legacy) tool

Instructions on how to download your old portfolio from the ePortfolio (legacy) tool can be found here:  How do I download the contents of my ePortfolio?

Transfer your content to the new Portfolio tool

Unfortunately, there's no way to automatically transfer all of the content you downloaded to the new Portfolio tool.  Instead, you'll need to transfer each item manually.

There are three steps you'll need to take now:

Step One

Extract the files from the zip folder you downloaded from the old ePortfolio (legacy) tool.

This will allow you to access the individual files.

Step Two

Create your new Portfolio.

Step Three

Upload the old ePortfolio files to your new Portfolio.

You'll be using the Create new evidence option to upload the files
